At Clínica Guirao, research and innovation are an essential part of our approach to ophthalmology. Our commitment to medical excellence has led us to become the first ophthalmology center in the Region of Murcia to implement iStent Infinite technology, an innovative device designed to treat glaucoma through minimally invasive surgery. This milestone represents a significant step forward in improving the treatment of one of the leading causes of vision loss worldwide.

The iStent Infinite is a microscopic implant that enhances the eye’s natural aqueous humor drainage and helps reduce intraocular pressure, protecting the optic nerve and slowing the progression of glaucoma. Thanks to this technology, patients can benefit from less invasive procedures, faster recovery, and, in many cases, reduced dependence on eye drops.

Clínica Guirao’s commitment to research is also supported by a strong international presence. Members of our team carry out professional work in Oxford and Windsor, maintaining close and ongoing collaboration with globally renowned centers and specialists. This connection enables us to participate actively in the development of new techniques and to bring the latest advances in ophthalmology to Murcia.

In addition to iStent Infinite, Clínica Guirao was a pioneer in Spain in the use of the Hydrus Microstent under topical anesthesia and has more than six years of experience using the Paul Glaucoma Implant for the treatment of glaucoma in the Region of Murcia.

Our participation in international scientific meetings, such as the Glaucoma Symposium at the University of Miami and the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Florida, reinforces our commitment to continuing education, clinical research, and the development of new solutions for eye diseases.
